Terms

We convene small private dinners, executive roundtables and hospitality experiences for senior technology leaders. Each one is built around a question, and the guest list is composed rather than sold.

We are not a ticketed events business. There is nothing to buy, and no amount of anything secures a seat.

Submitting a request is not a registration and does not entitle you to attend. Every request is reviewed by a person against how the room is coming together as a whole.

We may decline a request without giving a reason, most often because the room is already balanced or because a conversation is not close enough to your work to be worth your evening. A decline is not a judgement about you and does not affect future invitations.

Please give us accurate information. We compose rooms on the strength of what you tell us about your role and what you are working on, and a room built on something inaccurate is worse for everyone at the table, including you.

If your request is approved we will send you an invitation to register, with the venue, timing and the other practical details. You are confirmed once you have registered, not before.

Your place is yours and is not transferable. If a colleague would be a better fit, tell us and we will consider them on their own terms rather than substituting them in.

Approved guests attend as our guests. There is no fee, and dinner or hospitality is included. Most of our experiences are underwritten by a technology partner, and we name that partner before you agree to attend.

Many organisations have policies on accepting gifts and hospitality, and some require disclosure or set a value limit. Please check yours before accepting. We will tell you the approximate value of the hospitality if you ask, and we would rather you declined than put yourself in an awkward position.

You are responsible for your own travel and accommodation unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

These evenings work because everyone at the table treats them as a conversation between peers. We ask all guests, including partners, to hold to a short standard.

• Nobody presents at the table. Partners may help shape a topic, open a discussion, contribute expertise and demonstrate something where the conversation genuinely calls for it, but the evening is not a pitch and will not be turned into one.
• Nobody is there to be sold to, and nobody should be made to feel like a lead.
• Disagreement is welcome. Making someone regret speaking is not.
• Confidences are kept, as set out below.

We may ask a guest, including a partner's representative, not to return if they do not hold to this. It has to be enforceable to be worth anything.

You are free to use what you learn at an LXSGRP table. You are not free to attribute it. Do not repeat what someone said alongside their name, their employer, or enough detail to identify either, unless they have agreed.

We hold ourselves to the same rule. Nothing said at a table is published with a name attached unless the person has read the wording and approved it, which is why a good deal of the best material from these evenings never appears anywhere.

Please do not record audio or video of a discussion.

We photograph our events, and sometimes film them. Those images may appear on this website, in our communications and on our social channels.

We will tell you when a photographer is present. If you would rather not appear, tell us or tell the photographer on the night and we will keep you out of frame. If an image of you is already published and you want it removed, email us and we will take it down.

If you can no longer attend, tell us as early as you can. These rooms are small, so one unfilled seat is a noticeable share of the table and an early message usually means someone else can take it.

We may need to change a date, a venue or a format, or occasionally to cancel. If that happens we will tell you as soon as we know. We are not responsible for travel or accommodation you have booked, which is the main reason we say so here rather than after the fact.

Repeatedly registering and not attending, without telling us, may mean we stop extending invitations.

Joining the community means we will consider you for experiences and tell you about relevant ones. It is not a subscription, there is nothing to pay, and it carries no guarantee of an invitation.

You can leave at any time by emailing us, and we will remove you.

Please use the site as intended. Do not attempt to break it, gain access to anything not meant for you, scrape it at a volume that affects other people, or submit forms on behalf of someone who has not asked you to.

The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

The text, photography, design and marks on this site belong to us or to the people we license them from. You are welcome to quote short passages from our published articles with attribution and a link. Please ask before anything more than that.

Where an article carries an executive's name, their views are their own and not those of their employer or of LXSGRP.

We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or business opportunities, or for what another guest or a partner says or does at an experience. Our total liability to you in connection with these terms is limited to one hundred US dollars, which reflects that you pay us nothing.

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], and the courts of [STATE] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and the version in force when you registered for an experience is the one that applies to that experience.
